Thanks for the context. Since this is for a 13-month-old child and the eye specialist originally prescribed DECAMOX, here's what I'd suggest:
If DECAMOX (the second bottle) was prescribed recently for this same eye problem and you're continuing the prescribed course, then MOXIYES-D (the first bottle) is likely an acceptable substitute because both contain moxifloxacin + dexamethasone. However, I would still recommend confirming with the prescribing doctor or the dispensing pharmacist, especially for a young child, as concentrations can occasionally differ between brands.
Since the child only has itching in the left eye and no redness, discharge, swelling, or pain, the itching alone doesn't necessarily indicate a bacterial infection. It could be due to mild irritation, dryness, or an allergy. Antibiotic-steroid drops are not usually started just for itching unless the ophthalmologist specifically diagnosed a condition that needs them.
A few questions:
When was DECAMOX prescribed? (Today, a few days ago, or weeks/months ago?)
What diagnosis did the eye specialist give?
How many days of treatment were advised, and is the course still ongoing?
In the meantime
Prevent the child from rubbing the eye as much as possible.
You can gently clean around the eye with sterile saline or cooled boiled water if needed.
If redness, yellow discharge, eyelid swelling, fever, or the child keeps the eye closed develops, or the itching worsens, the child should be re-examined by the eye specialist.
If the prescription is current and you're simply replacing an empty bottle during the prescribed treatment, tell me when it was prescribed and the dosage (e.g., 1 drop 4 times a day), and I can advise whether switching brands is reasonable.
